THR: Dave Porter Scores "Breaking Bad" Spin-Off

Posted by

Fan’s of AMC’s smash-hit series, Breaking Bad (which ended in 2013), have been rejoicing since rumors of a potential spin-off started circulating earlier this year. Now that the rumors have been confirmed of a spin-off series called Better Call Saul, CinemaBlend says, “Fans of Breaking Bad have positively lost their minds as they make their way through every interview, off-handed comment, and tweet, hoping to find answers to questions that drive TV fans crazy.”Better Call Saul

Even more exciting is that THR reports that Breaking Bad composer, Dave Porter, will again score what will undoubtedly be one of the most-anticipated shows of the new year. The article notes that Porter’s first task was to work on the catchy jingle “which aired at the end of the network’s Breaking Bad binge marathon.”

Additionally, the jingle “is performed by country singer Junior Brown, with lyrics by series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. …[Furthermore] Porter was a winner of the inaugural ASCAP Composer’s Choice Award for Best TV Composer for his work on Breaking Bad and NBC’s The Blacklist.”

Better Call Saul is slated to air in February 2015, but until then you can — like everyone else — binge watch Breaking Bad re-runs, and scour the inter-webs for interviews, clips and more!
